About Me
My name is Simon Gardling. I'm a software engineer and a long time Linux user (check out my dotfiles).
My Setup
I mainly use my Framework 13" laptop (w/ AMD Ryzen 340). But I also have a desktop that I recently watercooled in a SFF case (which was a journey for sure), so that has been fun.
Things I Do
I try to contribute what I can to FOSS projects, recently this has come in the form of working on updating and maintaining some NixOS packages.
I made a WIP graphing tool a few years back, which I need to work on more.
I maintain the codebase of HDR+, the original implementation of the multi-shot merging algorithm which many phones use today!
Education + Career
I'm currently working to get my B.S in Computer Science at Florida Institute of Technology (Graduation Spring 2026). I interned at SpaceX in Redmond, Washington in 2024 and 2025. I will be also returning as a full time employee in the summer of 2026.
